What application materials are needed?

Please submit the following materials for your application:

  • Online application form
  • Academic transcript(s) - uploaded at end of online application form
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae - uploaded at end of online application form
  • Five of your most recent journalistic work samples - uploaded at end of online application form (non-print media: see above instructions)
  • One online letter of recommendation (recommender may only use this online form)

Selection procedure

All applications that meet the formal and substantive requirements, are complete and submitted on time to Fulbright Germany as instructed will be included in the selection process. A selection committee appointed by Fulbright Germany will decide on the nomination for program participation based on the submitted application materials. We will notify all applicants of the outcome of the application process by January 2024.

All applicants please note:

  • participants in an alternative professional advancement program in Germany in 2024 are not eligible for this program, and applicants for this program must inform Fulbright Germany of any additional grant or program applications;
  • a successful applicant to multiple Fulbright Germany programs taking place during the 2023-2024 and 2024-25 academic years is eligible to participate in only one program, and participants in a Fulbright Germany program within the past five years are not eligible to apply.
