A New Chapter in Berlin-Mitte

Fulbright Germany Returns to Berlin’s Historic Center
A new chapter begins: Since May 2026, Fulbright Germany has been operating from its new offices at Charlottenstraße 65, just steps away from Gendarmenmarkt in the heart of Berlin.

This move also marks a return to a place that is part of our own history. Following the relocation of the German government from Bonn to Berlin in 1999, Fulbright Germany was first based in Berlin-Mitte, on Oranienburger Straße. After many successful years at our offices on Lützowufer, we are now returning to the historic center of the city.
For more than a decade, Lützowufer was an important home for our work. It was a place where programs grew, partnerships flourished, and countless Fulbright participants began or continued their transatlantic journeys. Many colleagues associate this location with meaningful experiences, shared achievements, and lasting connections.
At the same time, we see this move as an opportunity to look ahead. Our new offices provide space for collaboration, dialogue, and fresh ideas. They offer an environment where the values that have guided Fulbright Germany for nearly seventy-five years—mutual understanding, academic excellence, international exchange, and open dialogue—can continue to thrive.
We envision our new location as more than just a workplace. It is a place for connection, where people come together, exchange perspectives, and create new opportunities for cooperation. From here, we will continue to advance German-American educational and cultural exchange and carry the Fulbright mission forward with renewed energy.

We look forward to shaping this new chapter together with our partners, alumni, grantees, and friends of Fulbright.
