This year, Fulbright Germany proudly presented the Fulbright Cottrell Award to three remarkable early-career researchers.
We warmly congratulate the 24/25 award recipients:

- Prof. Dr. Christina Joerg, Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau
From Non-Hermitian Physics to Non-Abelian Fields: Lab-Lecture Fusion with Photonic Systems
(Honored in absentia.)
- Prof. Dr. Lisa Vondung, University of Hamburg
Enhancing research abilities of students for investigations on f-element complexes and beyond
Lisa Vondung and Daniel Friedrich accepted their awards in person, while Christina Joerg was honored in her absence.

The ceremony was attended by alumni of the Fulbright Cottrell Program, who engaged in lively discussions with the awardees about their research and scientific outlooks. Following the ceremony and academic exchange, participants joined our Fulbright Thanksgiving Celebration, where they also met representatives from our partner institution, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), which funds the Fulbright Cottrell Program.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the 2026 Fulbright Cottrell Award Workshop in Stuttgart, where we will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the German Fulbright Cottrell Program.
The next call for applications for the Fulbright Cottrell Award — and thus the next opportunity to embark on this scientific adventure — is planned for January 2026.
