"On the weekend from 15th to 17th August, it was that time again! For the next reunion of our 2019 Summer School cohort. While having been in South Germany last year, it got time to go North - to the impressive Lüneburger Heath.
After arriving on Friday evening at the hostel and having a barbecue, we got plenty of time to give each other a life update. It was amazing to see how we all gained new experiences since the last Get Together - professional, academic or private!
On Saturday, we started early in the morning with a hike through the nature reserve of the Lüneburger Heath - the biggest heath area in Middle Europe.
After successfully completing the hiking track, some of us spent some hours in the city centre of Lüneburg strolling around and having a coffee break. Some people spent time with playing volleyball.
In the evening, we went to an Italian restaurant and some drinks afterwards. We ended the day as we started - having fun together!
On Sunday morning most of us departed after breakfast while some people stayed an extra day and used the occasion to visit Hamburg.
Many thanks to our organization team consisting of Johanna, Lea, Sara and Max (and our „sparring partners“ Lara and Konrad) for making a great weekend possible for us. And thanks again to @fulbrightgermany for connecting all of us 6 years ago and creating some long-lasting friendships!
This weekend has shown again how we all got together. Most people didn‘t care about travelling from far away - no matter if Oslo, Malmö, Italy … or even Vietnam!
It was a pleasure again and we are thrilled to the next reunion. See you in 2027!"
